T-72B Tank

Deze 44 ton zware T-72B tank werd op 31 maart 2022 buitgemaakt door het Oekraïense leger nadat deze tijdens een Russische aanval op Kyiv op een Franse mijn was gelopen en zwaar beschadigd raakte.

Eind februari 2023 werd de tank als protest geplaatst voor de Russische ambassade in Berlijn. Daarna stond hij bij het Vrijheidsmuseum in Groesbeek. Nu staat hij voor Theater Orpheus, niet als spektakelstuk, maar als zichtbaar symbool dat herinnert aan de gevolgen van oorlog en aan het belang van democratie, mensenrechten en verbondenheid.

This T-72B tank weighing 44 tons was captured by the Ukrainian army on March 31, 2022, after it hit a French mine and was heavily damaged during a Russian attack on Kyiv. In February 2023, the tank was placed in front of the Russian embassy in Berlin as a protest. After that, it was displayed at the Freedom Museum in Groesbeek. Now it stands in front of Theater Orpheus, not as a spectacle, but as a visible symbol that reminds us of the consequences of war and of the importance of democracy, human rights, and solidarity.
